Awareness Campaign: Saving Lives from Breast Cancer

According to a report by Globocon 2020, every 4 minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in India. With some 1,78,000 fresh cases being diagnosed each year, the incidence of breast cancer has exceeded cervical cancer to become the most common cancer among Indian women.

An awareness campaign can help in creating breast cancer awareness and saving lives in the population of India. It is necessary to dispel the myths that individuals wrongly believe and inform them about the signs and symptoms, and the significance of screening for early detection. Through an awareness campaign, we can help make sure individuals understand how crucial mammograms and other breast cancer screening tools can be in saving lives. It is also essential to follow a healthy lifestyle, and sharing survivor tales gives a message of hope and confidence.

Awareness month for breast cancer is a global healthcare event to raise awareness of breast cancer, which is reminisced for the whole month of October every year. Worldwide, there has been a mammoth push for breast cancer awareness month in recent times, pink is almost as ubiquitous in the month of October as orange. 

Throughout the month, health systems and hospitals across the planet have been doing their part to foster breast cancer awareness and early detection by publicizing mammograms, sponsoring breast cancer organization walks, and handing out breast exam shower cards.

And each year some truly stand out from the pink pack. The IKRIS Run is one of the more innovative and inspiring breast cancer awareness efforts in Noida, India.

The IKRIS Run:

On October 8, 2023, Ikris Pharma Network (IPN) will host its second annual IKRIS Run, an inspiring event to raise awareness in society focusing on the need of early detection, prevention, and treatment of the disease. Last year, the event was held on October 2 and drew more than 700 attendees and participants, including 4 teams from different places in India.

With this unique race, Ikris Pharma Network (IPN) has turned a breast cancer awareness program into a beloved community event that individuals mark their calendars for.
